Campus University Center Master Plan

At the heart of a vibrant and spirited college campus, the University Center is a dynamic hub for all student life, blending academic support, social engagement, and recreation in one cohesive space. Designed for all students and faculty, the center provides a place to study, collaborate, dine, relax, attend events, meet with organizations, and engage with the campus community.

The client’s vision focused on intuitive wayfinding, large open volumes that encourage connection, and a mix of dynamic and intimate collaboration spaces. The design fosters student spirit and growth, integrating natural light and strong connections to the outdoors to enhance well-being and engagement.

A key challenge was the demolition and reconstruction of portions of the existing building, requiring careful coordination and phased construction to ensure continued student access with minimal disruption. This process became an opportunity to commemorate the university’s history while celebrating its future, blending preserved architectural elements with new, forward-thinking design strategies.

Balancing short-term functionality with long-term adaptability, the University Center Master Plan redefines the student experience—creating a destination where learning, community, and campus life converge.
