NTMWD Bois D’Arc Lake Operations Center
Bois d’Arc Lake is the first new major reservoir in Texas in nearly 30 years. The 16,641-acre lake will be located northeast of the city of Bonham in Fannin County. The new reservoir will meet the water needs and demands in the growing DFW region of 1.7 million people until 2040. BRW Architects was commissioned by Pacheco Koch Engineers to design five new buildings for the newly planned Bois D’Arc Creek Reservoir that will support Administrative, Educational, Community Events, Emergency Response, Dam Maintenance and Storage functions for North Texas Municipal Water District. The Lake Operations Facilities consist of the Lake Operations Center, NTMWD Vehicle Storage Building and Private Bunk House.
The Bois d’Arc Lake Operations Center will serve as headquarters for the District’s administrative operations at the lake, office space for the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife, and include a multi-agency meeting room that can be used during emergencies. The 7,500 SF Dam Maintenance Workshop is built from durable tilt-wall insulated concrete panels. The workshop will support office space, control room, server, and high bay drive-through service areas. The toilet facilities will be hardened to withstand F3 tornado.
